Tropicana Field Stadium, in St. Petersburg, Florida, had its roof torn off yesterday evening by Hurricane Milton, which made landfall in nearby Sarasota. The home of the MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays was repurposed as a 10,000-person base camp for post-hurricane response, but its Teflon-coated fiberglass roof was quickly left in shreds. The storm entered Florida as Category 3 hurricane and has left more than 3 million homes and businesses without electricity.
