Texas Hill Country Flooding

We just got access to imagery captured on July 8, that shows the scale of devastation following the flooding that occurred in the Texas Hill Country, located ~ 100 miles southwest of Austin, from July 4-7. Current figures estimate that more than 120 people died and 170 people are still missing. Overviews here include:

1. Trailer homes along the Guadalupe River in Ingram, TX washed away by rising waters. 20 inches of rain fell in a matter of hours on July 4th, leading the river to surge more than 25 feet (as high as 35 feet in some locations).

2 & 3. The flooded grounds of Camp Mystic in the town of Hunt, where at least 27 girls and counselors lost their lives, and five campers and one counselor remain missing.

3. Downed vegetation and debris gathered beneath Ingram Dam in Ingram, TX.

4. Homes in a riverside community in Hunt, TX destroyed down to their foundations. A heart is drawn on all that is left of one of the homes.

5. A large park behind a row of homes in Ingram, TX fully submerged, following the rise of the nearby Guadalupe River.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this catastrophe.
