LA Fires - Before / After / Continued

The aftermath and ongoing recovery in Los Angeles from two of the most destructive wildfires in recorded history. Each location here shows before the fires, immediately after the event, and a recent shot from April 2025.

Location 1 - In Pacific Palisades, where the January 2025 Palisades Fire burned over 23,000 acres and destroyed more than 6,800 homes. In this comparison, most of the destroyed homes have been cleared with lots sitting undeveloped besides a layer of dirt.

Locations 2/3 - Further inland in Altadena, the Eaton Fire scorched more than 14,000 acres and destroyed nearly 9,500 structures, wiping out entire blocks of homes. The first comparison shows one area where a few homes were saved and the second view is a significantly more zoomed out perspective, giving a better sense of just how much devastation occurred here.

Together, these fires destroyed over 16,000 structures and caused an estimated $30–65 billion in damages.
