Humanitarian aid is piled at the Kerem Shalom Crossing, located at the southern edge of Gaza near the Israeli and Egyptian borders. Images released by the Israeli government on July 21 show stockpiled supplies that have yet to be distributed, even as starvation and deadly chaos continue to grip the region.
With one in five children now suffering from malnutrition, aid workers collapsing from hunger, and most hospitals destroyed, global alarm is mounting over the scale and urgency of this worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
UN officials report that most civilians are unable to access critical aid with more than 6,000 truckloads of food, water, and medicine remain stranded. Since late May, over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed while trying to get supplies like these - many shot by Israeli forces at overcrowded, militarized distribution sites.
