The street plan and distinctive appearance of central Paris, France is largely due to the vast public works program commissioned by Emperor Napoléon III and directed by Georges-Eugène Haussmann, between 1853 and 1870. Haussmann’s renovation of Paris included the demolition of crowded and unhealthy medieval neighborhoods and the construction of broad, diagonal avenues, dotted with parks, squares, and fountains. Here we’ve also included our zoom on the Arc De Triomphe along with a drone shot of the Eiffel Tower. We wanted to post this today since our founder Benjamin Grant will be in Paris next week for Paris Photo 2021. We hope to meet some of you there!—48.865797°, 2.330882°
