Tropical Storm Hilary

Tropical Storm Hilary had significant impact on in Indio, California and the surrounding areas. As the first tropical storm to hit Southern California in 84 years, Hilary washed out roads, toppled trees, and flooded residential areas as it hit this area last weekend. Previously, when further south, the storm was a category 4 hurricane which brought torrential rainfall and gusty winds to the Pacific Coast of Mexico, the Baja California Peninsula, and other parts of the Southwestern United States, resulting in widespread flooding and numerous mudslides. Hilary broke records in four U.S. states for the wettest tropical cyclone event on record.
