The Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher, located along Ireland's western coast rise up to 214 meters (702 feet) above the Atlantic Ocean. The rock formation was formed over 320 million years ago during the Upper Carboniferous period when layers of shale, sandstone, and siltstone were deposited by ancient rivers and later shaped by erosion. The site attracts more than one million visitors every year.
