Scorched Area of Palisades Fire
This Overview shows the area scorched by the Palisades Fire, partially outlined by bright red fire retardant that was used to contain the blaze. Two days ago final evacuation orders were lifted as fire containment climbed above 96%. The fire, which began January 7th, burned over 36 square miles (95 sq. km) in northern Los Angeles, destroyed or damaged nearly 8,000 structures, and killed 12 people.
