Deadly wildfires have ripped across the Hawaiian Island of Maui this week, causing widespread damage to infrastructure, mass evacuations, and at least three dozen deaths. These before and after Overviews show Lahaina, a historic town in West Maui that has been reduced to rubble and ash. The fires, which are now mostly contained, began blazing on Tuesday and were exacerbated by winds from a hurricane hundreds of miles offshore.
