Marco Island
Marco Island is a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico, near the city of Naples in southwest Florida. Early development of the island began in the 1800s, with clam digging as its main industry, and significant development took off in the 1960s, making Marco Island the tourist destination it is today. It has a population of nearly 16,000.
