This is Galala, Egypt, seen from 2011 to 2022, as roads, housing, resorts, university buildings, and other infrastructure spread across the Galala Plateau above the Gulf of Suez. Rising more than 2,000 feet above the Red Sea coast, Galala is part of Egypt’s broader effort to build new urban centers and expand development along the Red Sea corridor.
