Earth Day 2026

Happy Earth Day.

Sometimes it feels like it’s too easy to forget this perspective. Caught up in the details of day to day life, we don’t consider the bigger picture and our place within it.

That is part of what makes the reflections from the astronauts of Artemis II feel so resonant right now. Christina Koch put it beautifully: “I know I haven’t learned everything that this journey has yet to teach me. But there’s one new thing I know, and that is Planet Earth, you are a crew.”

From a great distance away, the borders we create disappear. Conflict looks tiny. What remains is a fragile, beautiful world carrying all of us together.

This planet is our spaceship, our shared responsibility. These astronauts poignantly remind us to appreciate it, stare down at it, marvel at it, and protect it. Because when we divide, destroy, and turn against one another, we are not just harming each other, we are damaging the only home we all share.
